The man starts telling her about her condition, using some complicated medical lingo, and what Siobham knows is that she will have to have surgery. When Siobham tells her that she wants to see the doctor, a man appears in scrubs and his mouth covered with a surgical mask. A woman dressed in a nurse uniform, Grainne, tells her that she has been in an accident, and when Siobham tells her that she needs to call her mum, she says that she will consult the doctor. When Siobham wakes up, she only remembers the pub, but not the car lift. The men stop the car in front of a clinic, and when Siobham tries to leave on her own, one of the men knocks her unconscious with a hammer, and then the driver drives the car over her legs, crushing her knees. ![]() ![]() She is the worse for wear, and at first she doesn’t know what is happening, but then when the car heads in the opposite direction, she demands the car be stopped. The nineteen-year-old girl, Siobham, refuses, but when her boyfriend comes out and kisses her best friend, she decides to accept Milo’s offer. They mention that they have found what they were looking for, so one of them, Milo, approaches her and says that he can give her a lift home. The book starts with two men, Milo and Garret, watching a pub, and then a young girl in a tight dress comes out, all drunk. ![]()
